Woman dies after crash into Frankford residence

FRANKFORD — A 75-year-old Frankford woman died from injuries suffered when her vehicle crashed into a residence Tuesday, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities said that at approximately 1:30 p.m., the woman was driving a Chevrolet Trax on Dupont Boulevard when it traveled off the east edge of the road for unknown reasons and struck the side of a house. The crash occurred in the area of Frankford Avenue, police said.

The driver was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries later that night. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.

The crash did not result in any injuries to the residents, police said.

The roadway remained open during the crash investigation.

The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to contact Senior Cpl. R. Albert by calling 302-703-3266.
