Delaware’s legislature is considering multiple bills that would limit opportunities for data centers. Among the proposals are no tax credits for job creation; separate rates for facilities using higher amounts of energy; and not requiring the Delaware Electric Cooperative to provide monthly energy demands of more than 50 megawatts. Do you agree that these safeguards are appropriate? What prospects might the state miss if it limits or discourages data centers?

Certain pillars of American democracy are crumbling under the weight of accountability. The press and the legal profession are two institutional safeguards historically tasked with protecting democratic values and principles. They are failing as we speak!

During my time in public office, I have always believed that government is a public trust and not a vehicle for personal profit. That principle should not change simply because the marketplace has evolved.

In a hearing this week, legislators were told that $277 million from the Transportation Trust Fund is proposed to go toward capital projects. Transportation secretary Shanté Hastings said the Camden bypass is open on the east side and that the western portion would be done in summer 2027. Also, Georgetown will soon see work on a bypass at the intersection of U.S. 113 and Del. 404. Do you think construction is moving quickly enough to keep up with demand? Do you envision travel improvements?
