MAGNOLIA — The Friends of Delaware Veterans will host its second annual Battleground Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, May 5, at Jonathan's Landing Golf Course.

Breakfast is available 7:30-8:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The Early bird rate is $100 per player or $380 per 4-person team if registered by April 16. On tournament day it’s $150 per player.

This annual event will benefit Delaware veterans in emergency financial need, according to Dave Skocik, president of the Friends.

The Friends was founded in 2014 to raise money for the Veterans Trust Fund administered by the State Office of Veterans Services.

OVS operates under the Commission of Veterans Affairs. It provides one-time, hand-up grants that have stopped cutoff of utilities, repossession of vehicles, stopped evictions, made emergency repairs to homes, and even put food on the table for veterans across Delaware.
