MILFORD – The Milford Public Library made sure that people did not space out during the solar eclipse on Monday.
They held a solar eclipse viewing party behind the library at the bandstand in the park. Many people lined up to get their solar eclipse glasses and watch the phenomenon.
The library was able to hand out the glasses for free to each person in attendance through a grant from STARnet. They help libraries across the country to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs within the libraries.
People gathered around the bandstand to watch the solar eclipse. The library staff played music related to the sun and the moon to get everyone in the spirit and told facts about the eclipses as they waited for the peak time of this eclipse.
