Youngster, 12, charged with murder in death of 2-year-old
A 12-year-old youngster has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 2-year-old in east Salisbury.
Wicomico County Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday responded to a home on Jack Drive off Walston Switch Road in reference to the death of a toddler.
Detectives from the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center also responded and conducted an investigation. Detectives spoke with the caregivers in reference to the circumstances surrounding this incident.
The investigation led to charges being issued against the 12-year-old – whom deputies said lives in the same home – for the death of the younger child.
The 12-year-old youngster was arrested and transported to the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center, where he is currently being held. Additional charges include: second-degree murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
