DMV on the Go kicks off Monday

Posted

GEORGETOWN — The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles will begin the third season of its DMV on the Go trailer Monday.

The schedule will differ slightly from last year. Instead of appearing in Wilmington on Tuesdays, the vehicle will head south to Milton’s CHEER Center. The division’s Georgetown site is becoming the busiest in the state, and having the trailer visit three Sussex locations will help better serve customers.

DMV on the Go, featuring four workstations, made its debut in April 2021. It assisted over 1,600 customers in 2023.

The vehicle is accessible to the disabled and has an awning for bad weather and a wheelchair lift. All Division of Motor Vehicles transactions are available, except for inspections and road exams.

Customers in need of uninsured motorist or in-person driver improvement assistance still need to visit the Wilmington, Delaware City, Dover or Georgetown sites.

DMV on the Go’s Sussex County locations through Oct. 31 are:

  • Mondays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — DART’s Lewes Transit Center, 17616 Coastal Highway.
  • Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — CHEER’s Milton Center, 24855 Broadkill Road.
  • Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Big Lots, 820 Norman Eskridge Highway, Seaford.
