Wicomico spring sports programs open for registration

Wicomico Recreation & Parks’ spring schedule is packed with two new adult sport tournaments and many more spring sport programs for both youth and adults.

Registration for programs is available in person during modified hours at the Wicomico Civic Center Box Office (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and online at WicomicoRecandParks.org. To stay up-to-date on our programs, follow us on social media at @funwicomico.

Junior Girls Softball

The Junior Girls Softball program offers various leagues for players ages 4-16. From Li’l Miss Tee Ball to Major I League there are opportunities for players of all skill levels and abilities to participate. Games begin May 3 and continue through late June.

Li’l Miss Tee Ball is for girls ages 4-6, Ponytail Coach Pitch is for girls ages 8 and under, Pre-Minor League is for girls ages 10 and under, Minor League is for girls ages 12 and under and Major I League is for girls ages 16 and under.

Li’l Miss Tee Ball is $45 per player. Ponytail Coach Pitch and Pre-Minor League is $50 per player. Minor League and Major I League is $55. Registration is open now through March 14.

 Pickleball Spring Fling Tournament

The Pickleball Spring Fling tournament will take place March 27-28 at Billy Gene Jackson Sr. Park in Salisbury. Doubles teams have a chance to compete to win custom gold, silver and bronze level medals in each division. All participants will receive a tournament t-shirt and a gift bag.

Registration is open until March 16 and is $40 per player, per event.

 Junior Eastern Shore Golf

Teeing off for its seventh season, the Junior Eastern Shore Golf League is open for registration. The program is for golfers ages 8-18 with two divisions and four tee locations that are dependent upon age group.

Matches are played at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Locations include Nutters Crossing Golf Club, Green Hill Country Club, Great Hope Golf Club, Elks Golf Club, and other courses if necessary.

Registration closes April 30 and the season begins May 3. Program fees are $50 per person and an additional $5 due at the course.

 Cabin Fever Breakout Tournament

Break out of hibernation for the inaugural Cabin Fever Breakout tournament. This youthful spin on classic baseball uses light-weight plastic balls and bats. Compete to win custom medals.

Games will take place April 24-25 on Field 7 ½ at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury.

Registration is $75 per team and is open until April 16.

 FUNdamental Spring Soccer

The FUNdamental Soccer program is a six-week training program designed to create a nurturing, fun environment where youth players can develop their skills. USSF D Licensed Coach, Rusty Brown is the program instructor.

Practices and games will take place on Saturday mornings at Winterplace Park. There are two age divisions; U6-U8 and U10-U12. The season begins April 10 and continues through May 22.

Registration is open until March 31. Fees are $40 a player and include a soccer ball.
