FELTON — A three-run fourth inning sparked Smyrna High to a 6-5 win over Lake Forest in Henlopen Conference softball on Thursday afternoon.
The Eagles (5-5 overall) got a two-run triple from Adison Weisenberger in the fourth, which gave Smyrna a 5-3 lead.
The Eagles added a run in the sixth while the Spartans scored a run in both the fourth and seventh. Savanah Arnold had a two-run single, Lindsey Roscoe drove in a run and winning pitcher Alexis Dunne struck out six.
Pitcher Carah Sumpter hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Spartans (9-2) with a Bayli Gladen adding a solo shot.
