Wicomico County spring sports are open for registration

Spring is quickly approaching and Wicomico Recreation & Parks is ready to get outside. Our softball programs are back and we’ve added a new pickleball tournament to the lineup.  

Registration for programs is available in person during modified hours at the Wicomico Civic Center Box Office (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and online at www.WicomicoRecandParks.org. To stay up-to-date on our programs, follow us on social media at @funwicomico.

Men’s and Coed Slow Pitch Softball

This spring we are offering two adult slow pitch softball programs. Both men’s softball and coed softball leagues are for adults ages 16 and up.

Men’s softball is played Monday-Thursday nights, March-June at the Henry S. Parker Complex and other County fields as needed. Registration is open now through March 1 with two entry options. Team entry is $990. League entry is $470 per team and $43 per player.

Coed softball plays on Wednesday evenings, April-June at the Henry S. Parker Complex and other County fields as needed. Registration is open now through March 22 with two entry options. Team entry is $790. League entry is $355 per team and $35 per player.

 Junior Girls Softball

The Junior Girls Softball program offers various leagues for players ages 4-16. From Li’l Miss T-Ball to Major I League there are opportunities for players of all skill levels and abilities to participate. Games begin May 3 and continue through late June.

Li’l Miss T-Ball is for girls ages 4-6, Ponytail Coach Pitch is for girls ages 8 and under, Pre-Minor League is for girls ages 10 and under, Minor League is for girls ages 12 and under and Major I League is for girls ages 16 and under.

Li’l Miss t-Ball is $45 per player. Ponytail Coach Pitch and Pre-Minor League is $50 per player. Minor League and Major I League is $55. Registration is open now through March 14.

 Pickleball Spring Fling Tournament

The newest addition to the spring schedule is the Pickleball Spring Fling tournament happening March 27 and 28 at Billy Gene Jackson Sr. Park in Salisbury, MD. Doubles teams have a chance to compete to win custom gold, silver and bronze level medals in each division. All participants will receive a tournament T-shirt and a gift bag.

There are men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles entry options available and multiple divisions within each category. Registration is open until March 16 and is $40 per player, per event.
