“Wheel of Fortune” has been spinning, and players have been winning, since 1975. For 40 of those years, host Pat Sajak has been keeping contestants guessing letters to fill out phrases for money and prizes. He recently announced that he is taking one last spin and that his 41st season, which begins in September, will be his last. Why do you like watching the show?

  • Remembered watching it with my pop pop and us trying to guess the answers so long ago. — Diana Butts
  • I love trying to guess the words before the contestants but find it hilarious when I’m yelling at the TV when no one is getting the obvious answer. — Kelly Madison
  • It’s a family show, and it is fun for everyone to work together to solve the puzzle. We watch it with my 94-year-old grandmother, and it’s fun to watch. — Carrie Holloway Custis
  • So glad Ryan Seacrest is the replacement. — Carol McKnitt Heinold
  • It is a fun game show, but it definitely is time to retire, Pat. This year alone, he had dull, sometimes mean, comments and is constantly making fun of the contestants, whether it’s how they talk or their names. I am surprised they kept his bad attitude on the show and didn’t cut it out of production. — Denise Sloboda Deskiewicz
  • I’m more surprised to learn there are people still paying for network television. — Doug Ware
  • To see if I can guess faster than the contestants. — Cindy Christiansen
  • To see Vanna White’s dresses. — Nabeela Jeanne Black Swartz
