Smyrna man sentenced in attempted home invasion

WILMINGTON - William Bailey, 39, of Smyrna, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Wednesday for his role in an attempted home invasion.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware David Weiss announced the sentence, which was determined by Chief U.S. District Judge Colm Connolly.

Mr. Weiss said that according to court documents and statements made at sentencing, Bailey and two other men attempted a home invasion in the Dover area around midnight on May 10, 2018. Their aim was to rob occupants of drugs and cash, the news release said.
