KSI holds PossAbilities 5K Run/Walk in Milford

Crystal Riley, Patricia Harrell, and Donna Story represented Gold Sponsor, Del-One Federal Credit Union at KSI’s 3rd Annual Paths to PossAbilities 5K Run/ Walk.

Nearly 80 race entrants gathered for KSI’s 3rd annual 5K held at Mispillion River Brewing Company off Airport Road in Milford. Mint green t-shirts boasted race sponsors were given to race participants and volunteers.

KSI CEO Heath Chasanov thanks the group gathered at Mispillion River Brewing Company for the 3rd Annual KSI Paths to PossAbilities 5K Run/ Walk event. Mr. Chasanov asked race entrants and volunteers to support those sponsors who helped make this event possible. He also expressed his appreciation to each person, whether that be sponsor, race entrant or volunteer.

Fusion Racing team organized the 3rd Annual KSI Paths to PossAbilities Run/ Walk and started the clock as runners took off on the course. Several course marshals were stationed throughout the course to guide entrants through the industrial park area.

After the runners bolted from the starting line, the walkers began their journey. KSI’s 5K is unique in that many entrants aren’t really runners or walkers, they simply want to support KSI’s event. KSI found its staff to be supportive through more than 25 entries to race and others who volunteered to help the event run smoothly.

Frank Whittington traveled from Middletown to register day of for the KSI 5K. Emily Leonardi with Fusion Racing team gets him signed in while Alicia Hollis, KSI Director of Community Relations lets him know how much she appreciates his support again this year. Mr. Whittington finished first in his 70 year old age group with an amazing time of 30:32.

Matt Stevenson participated in the 5K then smiles with Kevin DiCostanzo and Eric Williams with Mispillion River Brewing Company. Event participants and volunteers were treated to light snacks and a complimentary beverage from the Brewery following the event.

KSI’s third annual Paths to PossAbilities 5K Run/Walk was held at Mispillion River Brewing Company in Milford on June 8.

Organized by Nic DeCairo’s team with Fusion Racing, the day started with a refreshing breeze, a beautiful blue sky, and close to 80 race entrants.

Paths to PossAbilities was made possible by many sponsors. Gold sponsors were: Daily State News, Del-One Federal Credit Union, Integrity Nursing, and Sharp Energy. Silver sponsors were: Aqua Tech Water Specialties, Atlantic Concrete Co., Artesian Water Company, Bayhealth, Best Ace Hardware, Faw Casson, and William Hare. Bronze level sponsors were: Chick’s Saddlery, Dan Tidwell in Memory of Ann Haggerty, Delaware City Refining Company, i.g. Burton Auto Group, Mohawk Electrical Systems, Inc., Shore United Bank, Wadkins Garage and Weller’s Utility Trailers.
