Homa: Senate contender Katz ‘proves dedication’ to Delaware

Posted

I was recently invited to attend a candidates’ forum at the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Unlike recent debates on TV, I not only found it to be very interesting, but it helped me decide who I will be voting for come Nov. 5. This was not a debate. A moderator asked questions, and the candidates were limited to a timed response.

Unfortunately, some of the candidates I am quite familiar with. Regardless of what they say, their past actions speak loudly about harming people’s interests.

One candidate who stands out above the rest, regardless of what they’re running for, is Dr. Mike Katz. He is running as an Independent Party of Delaware candidate for U.S. Senate. I was very impressed not only with his answers but the platform on which he is running. Unlike major-party candidates, whose campaigns are funded by corporate and special-interest groups, Dr. Katz has chosen to be independent. He has spent a modest amount of his own money on campaign materials, which, in my opinion, have been quite effective. By refusing all donations, he proves his dedication to us, the people of Delaware. Seeing, hearing, meeting and talking with him has given me a new hope. He is a refreshingly sincere and genuine person, who has Delawareans’ best interests at heart! Only days after the forum, I saw him personally pounding the pavement for votes at a recycling event in Middletown.

If you haven’t seen the forum, I strongly suggest that you watch it on YouTube. It does not begin until the 22:49 mark and continues through 1:25:20. The second part of the forum (which Dr. Katz participates in) starts at the 1:31:41 mark.
