Beronio: Transparency in Dover should be a given

Posted

As a candidate for state representative in District 8 (Middletown), I am demanding transparency in Dover.

For any decision in government, I ask, “Should Middletown and Delaware taxpayers spend their hard-earned money on this? Can we honestly afford it?” Dover is spending too much, and we continue to offer more and more government-run programs. Taxpayers and local businesses are already challenged in this economy, and I want to help!

With a Master of Business Administration from the University of Delaware, I will lead with both integrity and the willingness to openly communicate all matters publicly.

Do you know who is representing you in Dover? Do their values align with yours? Are they willing to make tough decisions, even if they aren’t popular?

I can be a visionary for Middletown’s future. As both an Eagle Scout and U.S. Naval Academy graduate, I was taught at a young age the importance of strong family values, education, hard work, service to your neighbors and responsible economic decisions. No one in Dover is asking, “Will we get a good return on our investment?” Dover needs financial reform immediately!

To help voters understand where candidates stand on key issues, I am reiterating a prior request, a public debate with incumbent Rep. Sherae’a Moore.

For Middletown and Delaware to thrive in the future, there are some major decisions ahead. These will involve serious discussions and tough choices about freedom, finances, growth, education and safety. I know my leadership is needed today for a better tomorrow.
