Delaware Department of Elections reminds voters of upcoming registration deadline

DOVER — The Delaware Department of Elections informs eligible Delaware residents who are not yet registered to vote in Delaware and wish to vote in the Nov. 5 General Election they must register to vote on or before Oct. 12 at 11:59 p.m.

Individuals may register to vote in Delaware if they:

  • Are a citizen of the United States
  • Are a resident of Delaware
  • Will be 18 years old on or before the date of the next General Election, Nov. 5.

Detailed voter registration information and eligibility requirements are available at de.gov/voterfaq.

The following are options for eligible individuals to register to vote in Delaware:

  • Register to vote online ivote.de.gov.
  • Register to vote by downloading and printing a form from the Department of Elections website, de.gov/vrapp. Complete and sign the application and submit to the Department of Elections. Completed voter registration applications for new registrants must be received or postmarked by Oct. 12.
  • Call the Department of Elections Office in respective county to have a voter registration application mailed. Completed voter registration applications for new registrants must be received or postmarked by Oct. 12.
  • Register in person at a Department of Elections office (in Wilmington, Dover, or Georgetown) during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bring ID showing name and current Delaware address.

Delaware residents may check to see if they are registered to vote in Delaware at ivote.de.gov, or by contacting the Department of Elections office in their county of residence.
