NEWARK — Delaware has added an old foe to its future football schedules.

UD announced today it has scheduled Connecticut for a pair of games over the next four seasons.

The Blue Hens and Huskies have already met 27 times, including when the two programs were members of the Yankee Conference.

Delaware leads the all-times series 207, with five straight wins, with the last meeting coming in 1998.

UConn will be the first FBS program to visit Delaware Stadium when it comes to Newark on Sept. 13, 2025. It is the fourth and final non-conference game on the ‘25 slate for the Hens, who will be playing their first season as a full member of Conference USA.

Delaware also has non-league contests at home against Delaware State (Aug. 28) and road contests at Colorado (Sept. 6) and Wake Forest (Sept. 27). The eight-game CUSA schedule will be announced at a later date.

The Blue Hens will travel to UConn for the 2027 season finale to close out the series. The matchup will take place on Nov. 27, 2027, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford.

In the last meeting, in ‘98, the No. 15 Blue Hens defeated No. 5 UConn 59-17 in Storrs, Conn. behind a program record 732 yards of total offense. Quarterback Matt Nagy set UD records with 358 passing yards in the first half and 556 yards for the game.

He remains the only Blue Hen to have surpassed 500 passing yards in a single game. Eddie Conti caught 15 passes for a Delaware-record 354 yards, including a 76-yard touchdown reception from Nagy, and finished with 401 all-purpose yards which tied his own record from earlier that season.

UConn went 3-9 during the 2023 season, its second under coach Jim Mora, and finished the season with consecutive wins over Sacred Heart and UMass.
