Call for Artists - 2024 DCA Annual Members’ Show and Sale

CAMBRIDGE – Dorchester Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a call for artists for the 2024 Annual Members’ Show and Sale. This yearly exhibit highlights the talents of current members and represents a variety of mediums including photography, painting, fiber art, assemblage, found object, jewelry, ceramics, collage, mixed media and more.

DCA appreciates the support that membership provides and is honored to have this annual opportunity to shine the spotlight on member creativity. This year the show will run for two full months: May 31 through July 27. It is not too late to become a member.

To plan the exhibition space, participants are asked to fill out the entry form and return it to the Dorchester Center for the Arts by May 8. Additionally, a copy of the form should be included when the work is dropped off May 21, noon-8 p.m. Four entries will be accepted per person. The entry form for the Members’ Show is available online at dorchesterarts.org or available for pick up at 321 High Street in Cambridge. For questions, please contact Visual Arts Coordinator Jennifer Hartfield at jhartfield@dorchesterarts.org.

All exhibit entries must be original works of the exhibiting artist. “Original” means never having occurred or existed before and invented or created by the exhibitor. No copies of art or photographs by other people are exhibited.

Exhibiting artists are welcome to sell their work during the show; DCA retains a commission of 35% of the selling price of each item sold.
Awards will be presented for Best in Show, Best Depiction of Dorchester County, Most Creative, and People’s Choice during the Second Saturday Artists’ Reception on June 8 from 5-7 p.m. The reception is free, featuring light refreshments and live music. The public is invited to attend. An additional reception will be held July 13.
