Annual Middletown Olde-Tyme Peach Festival comes Saturday

MIDDLETOWN — The 31st annual Middletown Olde-Tyme Peach Festival commences Saturday with a parade at 8:45 a.m., followed by several hours of activities.

The parade will march down Main Street, and the festival will continue until 4 p.m.. Kids activities are included, along with live music and entertainment, historical and local artist exhibits and more.

The Peach Festival Music Cafe will feature performances by:

• Hippocampus, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• Dogbox, noon to 1 p.m.

• Undercover Animal, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Metro Nomes, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On the Main Stage on Cochran Square will be:

• Polar Entertainment Services, 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

• Jazzercise, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

• Giovanni Bovenzi, 11:30 a.m. to noon.

• Robby Gordon, noon to 1 p.m.

• Tankstey, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

• Polar Entertainment Services, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The festival, organized by the Middletown Historical Society, is a rain-or-shine event. For information on the society, visit middletowndehistory.com.

The 2024 Peach Car Show will be held at the MOT Senior Center field at 300 S. Scott St. beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The festival’s peach pie contest starts at 11 a.m. at the MOT Senior Center.

Recommended shuttle bus parking is available at the old Appoquinimink Public Library site at 651 N. Broad St. and Dutch Country Farmers Market in the Middletown Shopping Center lot at 701 N. Broad St. Shuttles are available from 8 a.m. through the close of the festival at 4:30 p.m.

Shuttle buses for handicapped individuals and senior citizens will be available.

Main Street and a portion of adjoining North Cass Street will be closed to traffic for the event, according to the festival’s middletownpeachfestival.com website.
