PRINCESS ANNE — Looking for unique 4th of July decor?

Second-hand, thrifted and vintage items are easy on the wallet and easy on the planet, too. Shopping local thrift shops and antique stores keeps money local and often yields one-of-a-kind treasures.

The Main Street Princess Anne District, designated by the State of Maryland, is one of nearly three dozen Main Street communities across the state. The district includes a municipal park, dozens of historic buildings, and a wide variety of locally-owned businesses.

Two vintage stores are in the downtown district, including Somerset Choice Station Antiques and Somerset Hidden Treasures. Each store stocks a selection of antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, second-hand furniture, accessories, books, vinyl, and more. Somerset Choice Station is owned and operated by the Somerset County Historical Society and is staffed by volunteers. Proceeds support the nonprofit’s mission to preserve local history.

Wraparound Maryland’s ReWrap Thrift Store recently opened, too, just north on Somerset Avenue, offering another thrifting opportunity in the town of Princess Anne.
