Millsboro PD’s new training room available free to groups

Posted

MILLSBORO — The new Millsboro Police Department building will be offering a training room free of charge to community groups.

On Monday, Town Council voted 7-0 to approve Chief Brian Calloway’s request to allow authorized entities to utilize the facility.

“I have a lot of people that are interested in using that room,” he said.

Part of the headquarters at 120 Railroad Ave., the training room has a 42-person capacity, with 21 tables and 42 chairs. It features two flat-screen TVs, an LCD projector and screen, and a media cart.

Wi-Fi is not available in the room, so users should make sure presentation materials are stored on a flash drive.

“We want to make it clear what the use would be for — for a committee event or hosting a training event,” Chief Calloway said.

Acceptable examples include, but are not limited to, homeowners association meetings, youth groups, school groups, or charitable and nonprofit organizations.

The location is not available for parties, social gatherings, for-profit enterprises or any gathering where refreshments would be served.

A $100 refundable security deposit will be required to reserve the spot.

After an event, the room must be found neat upon inspection and returned to its original state, with tables and chairs as they were.

A form to reserve the room can be obtained by contacting the police department at 302-934-8174.
