GEORGETOWN — The Take Two Drama Club of Sussex Central High School will present the world premiere performance of “A Pickwick Christmas” by Los Angeles actor/director/writer Brian Lohmann.
The play will be staged at the Premiere Centre for the Performing Arts at the school on Patriots Way in Georgetown, on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 17 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“We are proud to be the first group of any kind to present this fantastic comedy,” Take Two adviser David Warick said. “We have a wonderful group of actors representing every grade at Sussex Central, and they are perfecting their British accents and improvisational skills.”
Ticket information can be found here. The cost is $12 for general admission, with children 12 and younger entering for free. No one will be turned away for their inability to pay.
There will also be an option to purchase tickets for a livestream of each staging.
This holiday play — suitable for children, teens and adults — is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved novel, “The Pickwick Papers.” It chronicles the travels and misadventures of Samuel Pickwick and his fellow Pickwick Club members, Tracy Tupman and Nathaniel Winkle, in the English countryside.
Mr. Warick hopes students and their families will attend for some Christmastime laughs and to enjoy this new show.
