Indian River district to honor Teachers of the Year May 9

District’s overall Teacher of the Year for 2024-25 to be announced

FRANKFORD – The Indian River School District will honor its 15 building teachers of the year Thursday, May 9 in a celebration highlighted by the announcement of the district’s overall 2024-25 Teacher of the Year.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Seed & Sapling events venue, 246 Clayton Avenue, Frankford.

School winners are:

  • Katherine Bennett, Phillip C. Showell Elementary School.
  • Christina Hensler, Indian River High School.
  • Tanya Kaminski, Georgetown Middle School.
  • Olivia Kortvelesy, Lord Baltimore Elementary School.
  • Courtney Macchione, North Georgetown Elementary School.
  • Vanessa Ortiz-Roblero, Georgetown Elementary School.
  • Stacy Porter, IRSD Early Learning Center.
  • Justin Revel, Sussex Central High School.
  • Jessica Schumann, John M. Clayton Elementary School.
  • Katie Skidmore, East Millsboro Elementary School.
  • Daniele Squillante, Southern Delaware School of the Arts.
  • Paige Tietmeyer, Long Neck Elementary School.
  • Chelina Tingle, Selbyville Middle School.
  • Deborah Treherne, Howard T. Ennis School.
  • Travis Waller, Millsboro Middle School.

Kasey Revel, a Sussex Central High School agriscience teacher, earned the IRSD’s 2023-24 Teacher of the Year honor.
