Town Square is an opinion column to which readers can submit their views. As a true community newspaper, we’re always looking for ways to include local thought and pertinent viewpoint, this forum is a way to share those thoughts. Civility and fair comment will always prevail.

This week, many local folks were grateful for the quick action of the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company and Dorchester watermen in assisting the crew of a sunken workboat. A full account of the incident appears in this week's paper. - Editor

HEROES: These guys are not only our local watermen. They are our local heroes.

GOOD JOB: Hats off to those guys. They stayed out there all afternoon. It couldn’t have been done with out them.

BROTHERHOOD: Waterman always stick together when times get tough. There’s a brotherhood that goes beyond all boundaries.

TIGHT-KNIT: Watermen are amazing. They are a tight-knit family of men, always there for one another, willing to help each other. Thanks to all who helped.

FAMILY: Everyone is family in times of need. Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company and everyone involved proved it again. Great team work.

PROUD: The team work of this community of men is remarkable. Great job by all. Shows the true meaning of “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” You all rock. God Bless every one of you. Makes me proud to be part of the Eastern Shore.
