Gloria Ho: Lieutenant governor candidate is ‘real deal’

Posted

If you believe our children deserve a high-quality education and our public school educators deserve to be treated with dignity, state Sen. Kyle Evans Gay, D-Talleyville, is your best choice as Delaware’s next lieutenant governor.

As the mother of two young girls, Kyle knows what it’s like to depend on affordable child care. Rather than accept the status quo, she won a seat in the Delaware Senate and worked to redirect more than $30 million toward helping struggling families get the child care they need.

As a young professional, she knows how hard you have to fight just to be heard. That’s why she worked to help more Delawareans have a voice by passing legislation that dramatically increased voter registration in our state.

As a woman, she knows what it’s like to have our reproductive health care choices stripped away. So, she fought to make sure families in Delaware are able to make decisions about their own bodies, while also providing universal access to period products in our schools.

And, when pay for public school educators fell behind that of our neighboring states, Kyle fought hard to raise the starting salary for teachers, empowered paraprofessionals to advance their careers and helped Delaware students pursue careers in public education.

Kyle has proven that she’s committed to lifting up educators, empowering us in our classrooms and treating us with the dignity we deserve.

Kyle Evans Gay is the real deal, and she deserves our support.
