CAMBRIDGE - Cambridge-South Dorchester High School varsity football finished the regular season at home on Friday, with a 42-6 loss to Easton. The Vikings compiled a record of 4-5 and earned second place in the Bayside Athletic Conference’s Division 1A, behind Colonel Richardson.

Easton ended their regular season at 7-2 and in third place in Division 3A/2A.

The visitors took an early lead and never looked back, going up 13-0 in the first quarter. The Warriors’ Kyle Dyott added another TD at the 5:35 mark of the second period, followed by a scoring plunge by quarterback Kevin O’Connor on 4th and goal from the 1, making it 27-0 with 23 seconds left in the half.

On the ensuing kickoff, however, the Vikings’ Anthony Hughes raced the length of the field to put C-SD on the scoreboard, to make it 27-6 at the break.

Two more Easton trips to the end zone, one each in the third and fourth quarters, led to the final score. In all, O’Connor rushed for three touchdowns, Dyott one, and freshman Dustin Blue for one.

On Friday, Nov. 4, the Vikings will again be at home, to host Elkton High School in the first round of the playoffs. The Golden Elks come into the game also with a record of 4-5, having scored 183 points during the regular season, while allowing 239. They are fifth in the region. Game time is 7 p.m.
