Annual Preston Run/Walk

Online registration prestonmdwalkrun2024.eventbrite.com is open for the Annual Preston 6K Walk Run for Water on April 27, 8-11 a.m. This year, the event will be followed by the Family Fun & Community Resource Day at the Town Park, noon-3 p.m. Any businesses that would like to be a sponsor for the Walk Run for Water may contact the town through the Facebook page What’s Up Preston MD. Early bird registration ends April 6.

2024 Youth Turkey Hunt

Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, in cooperation with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), is holding a mentored Youth Turkey Hunt at the refuge. Youth hunters are chosen by lottery for one of two hunt days and must possess a valid Maryland hunting license.

The mentored Youth Turkey Hunt occurs on one of two Saturdays: April 13 or April 20. Successful applicants will be required to attend a virtual orientation on April 10 at 6 p.m. Youth hunters will receive a briefing the morning of their hunt and will be accompanied by an adult mentor from NWTF. A non-hunting parent or guardian may also accompany the youth hunter.

The refuge will be closed to the public until noon on both hunt days.

Taylors Island Boat Docking Challenge

The 2024 Taylors Island Boat Docking Challenge is set for Aug. 25 at the Slaughter Creek Marina. All proceeds go to Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company.
