Sipple: Recent presidents nothing like JFK

Daniel Pritchett’s Opinion piece on John F. Kennedy was spot on (“Sixty years later, sadness of JFK loss is profound,” Nov. 22).

JFK was a president that was admired by people from all over the world. He was a man that Americans were proud to say represented us. The presidency was a position that people and children and adults looked up to.

That’s what bothers me about recent presidents. We used to say to our children that they could look up to our presidents. Strive to be like him. People in JFK’s day could say that.

Think about that when you vote for our next president. We need to think back to our past and remember the days when our president represented us with civility and honor.
