Question of the Day: Do you want a passwordless future?

Here is the Question of the Day:

Google is rolling out passkeys, saying they are the easiest and most secure way to sign in online. Along with the current options of passwords and two-step verification, they will use your phone’s screen lock, such as a fingerprint sensor, facial recognition or PIN, and will be authenticated by that device. Concerns include the fact that your passkey security is only as good as the means used to unlock your device. Also, there are questions about how long old passwords will need to be retained and what happens with shared accounts or if you lose the authenticating device. What’s your take on using passkeys instead of passwords?
