Letter to the Editor: Writer opposes tax credits for union workers

Posted

It appears to me that some Delaware legislators wish to buy votes by extending state income tax benefits to unionized workers. The effect would be to transfer part of a state asset (tax receipts) to a favored group not known to be suffering in poverty.

If unionized workers don’t feel the cost of membership is less than the benefits gained, they can elect different leaders or drop out of the organizations. They should not expect other taxpayers to subsidize their dues.
