Kent County Theatre Guild plans 'naughty by nice' holiday farce

DOVER — Kent County Theatre Guild will premiere “No Sex Please: It’s Christmas” Dec. 1.

It is a farce that promises to kick off the holiday season with laughter and merriment. Directed by Terri Thompson and Assistant Director Patti Gatto, this production will run weekends from Dec. 1–16 at the Kent County Theatre Guild in Dover.

The play revolves around Mr. Broadbent’s “House of the Future,” which has remained unsold for four years due to its malfunctioning futuristic innovations. In a bid to finally sell the house, Mr. Broadbent invites prospective buyers Fred and Gladys to stay in the house. However, chaos ensues as the house’s technology wreaks havoc on its inhabitants, and almost everyone ends up pretending to be someone they’re not.

This show is intended for teen and adult audiences.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 8 p.m., with one Sunday matinee performance on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Patrons are invited to stop into the Guild early to warm up with drinks and camaraderie in the lobby. Doors open at 7 p.m. for evening shows and 1 p.m. for the matinee.

Tickets are on sale on the Kent County Theatre Guild’s website, kctg.org.
