Community Resource Event coming to New Castle

NEW CASTLE — On Thursday, the Delaware Department of Correction’s Probation and Parole division is partnering with state and local service providers to sponsor a Community Resource Event.

The free gathering is from 3-6 p.m. at the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center, 3022 New Castle Ave., New Castle. It is open to all and will feature a variety of on-site assistance to meet basic needs, connect participants to employment opportunities, share referrals to social services, provide addiction resources and fire safety information, and more.

The following agencies and services will be available:

  • Food Bank of Delaware Mobile Pantry — Food packages will be distributed. Register in advance here.
  • Employers such as Starbucks, Delaware Technical Community College, YWCA and Revolve Training & Staffing.
  • New Castle County Police Department’s HERO HELP Program.
  • Department of Health and Social Services’ Bridge Clinic.
  • Delaware Center for Justice.
  • Probation and Parole Clothing Closet.
  • Wilmington Fire Department.
  • Brandywine Counseling & Community Services.
  • PAWS for People.
  • Impact Life.
  • Croda’s Atlas Point facility.
