Blackman: As an agency of government, DOJ should follow majority’s wishes

Posted

I completely agree that the Department of Justice should be involved with prosecuting violent crime (“DOJ should focus on prosecution, not climate change,” Oct. 1).

One further angle on chasing the electric vehicle mandates is that DOJ is an agency of government — i.e., “we the people.” Therefore, the U.S. Constitution seems to preclude any action by the department (government) that is opposed by a heavy majority of the people, and no further use of their taxes to do it is permitted.
