Dover High girls’ lacrosse player Superia Clark was voted this week’s State News Athlete of the Week. The senior tallied 10 goals and a pair of assists in two DIAA state tournament games.

That included the Senators’ first-ever state tourney victory while Dover also finished with a school-record 13-4 season.

Clark ended up with 73 goals and 17 assists this spring, giving her 163 goals and 32 assists for her career. A 4.0 GPA student, she was named first-team All-State and a USA Lacrosse All-American.

Before beginning her college career at Syracuse, Clark will play in the Delaware Senior All-Star Game on June 14.

“She is the most athletic player I have ever had the privledge to coach,” said Dover coach Molly Phillips. “Superia is a humble player. She is always looking for ways to get her teammates involved. She is a leader at practice, always willing to help the younger girls improve their game.

“This off-season she really increased her lax IQ and was able to read the field and see plays unfold. Although she is a great attacker, she has excellent defensive skills especially in midfield transition. We are excited to see what she can do at the next level.”
