The St. Thomas More Academy girls’ basketball team overcame a small early deficit for a 32-24 victory over Tatnall on Thursday afternoon.

The Ravens found themselves trailing 7-4 after the first quarter, but used an 11-2 run in the second to pull in front for the rest of the contest.

St. Thomas More has won 11 games in a row to improve to 12-1.

Caesar Rodney 53, Smyrna 49: Alissa Hatih’s 28 points allowed Caesar Rodney to edge Smyrna in a Henlopen Conference Northern Division clash.

Smyrna was led by Jayla Smith’s 24 points and 15 from Melena Credle.

Sussex Central 69, Polytech 44: Emily Truitt netted 21 points to pace the Golden Knights to a Henlopen North victory.

Tatyana Jenkins also finished in double figures for Sussex Central with 15. Cherise Castello had 15 to lead Polytech.

Sanford 67, Dover 28: Brionna Hill had 15 points for the Senators as they fell on the road in a tough out of conference matchup.

Woodbridge 69, Laurel 43: Altia Anderson’s 32 points helped lift the Blue Raiders to the Henlopen South win.

Yasmin Hill added 21 points for Woodbridge. Logan Handy scored 41 points for Laurel in the defeat.

Delmarva Christian 38, Red Lion Christian 37: In a game played on Wednesday night, Ashlee McCoy’s 16 points led the Royals.

Delmar 49, Seaford 10: Carly Covington had 13 points for the Wildcats in a Henlopen South contest.

Boys’ basketball

Smyrna 62, Caesar Rodney 49: Caleb Matthews scored 19 points as the Eagles defeated their Henlopen North rivals.

The Eagles had three other players in double figures — Dymer’e Richardson (13 points), Jaymeir Garnett (11 points) and Ja’vier Worthy (10 points).

Caesar Rodney was led by Davione Robinson’s 18 points. Jayvon Palmer chipped in 14 points for the Riders.

Men’s basketball

Elon 83, Delaware 56: Christian Hairston and Brian Dawkins scored 12 points apiece and Elon held Delaware to 11 points in the first half to deal the Blue Hens a record-tying 14th loss in a row.

Tanner Samson and Dainan Swoope added 10 points apiece for the Phoenix (14-10, 5-6 Colonial Athletic), who went 32 of 62 from the field, with six 3-pointers, and 13 of 16 from the line.

Anthony Mosley had 23 points for Delaware (5-17, 0-11) and Devonne Pinkard had 17.

Delaware scored just one basket in the final 9:50 of the first half, getting outscored 13-2 to fall behind by 20. The Blue Hens made just 5 of 23 baskets before intermission.

Sheldon Eberhardt and Samson had 3-pointers in a 10-0 burst that put the Phoenix up 57-19 with 11:38 to play.

With the big lead, Elon had 17 players get in the game and the reserves scored 46 points, with 13 players scoring and 14 grabbing at least one rebound.
