Dover's football home opener vs. Canarsie canceled

Posted

DOVER – Dover High School Athletic Director Kevin Turner said at around 4 p.m. today that tonight’s nonconference football game against Canarsie High School out of Brooklyn, N.Y., has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Dover officials had previously wrote on the school’s Facebook page, “We are sad to announce that tonight’s scheduled football game vs. Canarsie High School has been postponed.

“We are attempting to reschedule for (Saturday) but we are still working on those details. Please stay tuned as we will notify our fans as soon as we can get a new date.”

The game was scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m.

Dover opened its season with an 8-3 loss to Troy, Pa., last Saturday night in Wilmington.

The Senators are playing their first season under coach Maurice Paulk, who is a first-time head coach.

Canarsie, which went 2-8 last season, lost to Coatesville (Pa.) 28-8 in its season-opener last week.
