Senior Devaughn Mallory collected 31 points and 10 rebounds to pace Polytech High to an 85-66 victory over Sussex Tech in Henlopen Conference Northern Division boys’ basketball on Monday night.

Roundup: Polytech boys win 11th in a row

The win was the 11th in a row for the Panthers (10-0 North, 16-1 overall). Polytech has won its last three meetings with the Ravens (5-5, 9-8), who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Juwan Gray added 21 points while Richard Hicks had 13 for the Panthers. Sussex Tech’s Brandon Palmer (21 points), Shi-wuan Sykes (15) and Jeffrey Munro (12) all finished in double figures. Palmer hit four of the Ravens’ nine three-pointers in the contest. Smyrna 70, Sussex Central 51: The Eagles (12-5 overall) built a 36-17 lead by halftime in the Henlopen North win. Ja’vier Worthy (20 points), Latrelle Lee (13) and Caleb Matthews (12) led the way for Smyrna. Matthews and Worthy sank four three-pointers apiece as the Eagles hit nine in the game. Richard Flemming (14 points), Ethan Lambert (11) and Amontay Clanton (10) led the Golden Knights. Seaford 65, Laurel 63: The Blue Jays knocked off the Bulldogs in a Henlopen Conference Southern Division upset on Monday. Rahim Smith (23 points), Kadeem Hughes (16) and Andrez Jones (16) for Seaford. Delmar 77, Lake Forest 55: Senior Larry Ennis erupted for 44 points to lead the Wildcats to the Henlopen South victory. Delmar jumped out to a 22-8 first-quarter advantage before picking up the win. Indian River 67, Woodbridge 60: Kiante Sturgis tallied 20 points as the Indians knocked off the Raiders in a Henlopen South contest. Randy DuPont scored 14 points for Woodbridge, which went 16-for-34 from the foul line. Delmarva Christian 47, Salisbury Christian 41: Matt Dykstra’s 18 points paced the Royals to the victory. Girls’ basketball Lake Forest 57, Delmar 43: Shayna Gourdine scored 19 points as the Spartans (11-6) won for the fourth time in their last five games. Sussex Central 56, Smyrna 18: Emily Truitt netted 13 points to pace the Eagles to the Henlopen North victory. Sussex Tech 47, Polytech 37: Rukiya Davis tallied 14 points to spark tha Ravens to the North win. Sussex Tech outscored the Panthers, 20-11, in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. Fatima Edwards scored 15 points for the Panthers. Woodbridge 59, Indian River 32: Four Raiders scored in double figures as Woodbridge rolled to the South victory. Yasmin Hill finished (16 points), Brittany Roberts (12 points, 12 rebounds), Mykle Crippen (12 points, 9 rebounds) and Altia Anderson (10 points, 12 rebounds, 9 steals, 5 blocks) paced the Raiders, who led 28-7 at halftime. Taylor Billinger had a team-high 19 points for the Indians. Seaford 50, Laurel 39: Felicia Ell tallied 23 points as the Blue Jays (1-16) earned their first victory of the season.
