Here is the Question of the Day:
Adult-use recreational marijuana legislation has cleared the House Health and Human Development Committee. It includes a marijuana tax, a portion of which would be directed to a justice reinvestment fund. Supporters say that could be used to build awareness and help reduce arrests and incarcerations. Opponents say the bill should include employers’ rights to enforce a drug-free workplace, and shared concerns that it would encourage youth to use marijuana and impair their brain development. What else should legislators consider as they discuss the legislation?
