Did Dolly Parton’s reading program touch your life?

One of late country singer Dolly Parton’s enduring legacies will be her Imagination Library, through which she mailed free books to participating children each month. Did your kids or grandkids take part in this literacy initiative? If so, how do you feel it made a difference?
Absolutely. My kids looked forward to receiving their books every month, and it was always exciting to read them! I signed them both up at birth. Such amazing books. We still have all of them. My youngest will be 5 in a few months, and we will definitely miss getting them. For some kids, these may be the only books they get. It is a phenomenal program. — Erika Barber
I signed my granddaughter up when she was a week old! She’s now 5 and loves her Dolly books and loves books in general. She’s been read to every night of her life and is now reading to us! Thank you, Dolly. — Antoinette Bkborn
My kids always looked forward to their next books in the mail, and we reread them all the time. — Jonathan Contant
Yes, for all of my grandbabies. — Teresa A. Appleton
