A Georgetown City Council member is looking to recoup lost money for the town for properties owned by the state that are not on the tax rolls. There is some payment in lieu of taxes to Georgetown, but not equal to taxation. These types of payments vary by town throughout the state. Should this process be updated? If so, how?
