Election season for 2023 has begun to heat up with recent and upcoming municipal races. City elections are underway across the state, and school board elections will be May 9. Of the municipal elections listed on the state’s website, https://elections.delaware.gov/information/elections/municipal.shtml, 17 have been canceled, generally because candidates were uncontested for the open seats. Should unopposed candidates be declared elected without a vote? What’s the solution?
