Question of the Day: Lodging tax, or not?

Posted

Here is the Question of the Day:

Sussex council has had conversation recently concerning the reinstatement of the county’s lodging tax in July. The tax gathers up to 3% of rent on rooms in a hotel, motel or tourist home in the county’s unincorporated areas, and the funds are used for beach nourishment, economic development, water-quality, flood-control and other Sussex projects. Should the county tax visitors or locals to raise the additional funding that benefits residents?
