Question of the Day: How would you curb gun violence?

Posted

Here is the Question of the Day:

Republican candidate for state attorney general Julianne Murray recently took aim at firearm charges against defendants, saying that far too many have been dropped. She cited a statistic showing 91.8% of charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony have been dropped. Democratic opponent Kathy Jennings says that misses the mark because many cases that involve dropping the original indictment then incorporate gun charges into a new indictment leading to conviction. She added that the highest percentage of convictions is a gun offense. If you were attorney general, how would you deal with gun violence in Delaware?
