Maloney: VegFest in Rehoboth a hit

Posted

I am writing to express my appreciation for the wonderful job that VegRehoboth did bringing back Rehoboth Beach VegFest. This year, it became part of the Planet Series tour as Planet Delaware, and the message of sustainability and compassion resonated through every speaker and vendor. This was Speak Out Against Hate’s first time participating as a nonprofit, and it was exciting to see the array of vendors and free events provided to the public. For over 10 years, VegRehoboth has been demonstrating its commitment to promote healthy, compassionate and sustainable living.

Starting with the moving movie Friday evening, “Eating for Tomorrow,” at the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware church, then the festival Saturday at Epworth United Methodist Church and the amazing vegan brunch at Nectar on Sunday, everything was top-notch. There was an impressive array of vendors and a wide variety of workshops, musical performances, artisans, health and wellness practitioners, and educational speakers, touching on everything for the heart, mind and body, from vegan foods and demonstrations to meditations, reiki and relaxation therapy.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our organization, Speak Out Against Hate, to make an even bigger connection to the community, and we enjoyed sharing our message with the many who attended. A special thank-you to Tara Sheldon for her kind assistance. We are excitedly looking forward to participating next year!
