DOVER — With Delaware hunting licenses going on sale this week, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has announced that the 2024/2025 Delaware Hunting & Trapping guide is available from license agents; from the department’s office, 89 Kings Highway, Dover; and via eregulations.com/delaware/hunting.
New this year is Sunday hunting for all game bird species, to include ducks, geese, doves, turkeys, pen-raised released quail and pheasants. Sunday hunting for game birds will be open on privately owned lands (at landowners’ discretion) and on all state wildlife areas.
Another change for hunters — and a byproduct of introducing Sunday hunting for game birds — is a modification of the traditional waterfowl seasons. Essentially, hunters now have a seven-day week for duck and goose hunting, which compresses waterfowl seasons into a tighter window.
Hunting licenses and waterfowl stamps can be purchased at epermitting.dnrec.delaware.gov/dnrec-home, at the licensing desk in DNREC’s Richardson and Robbins Building, and through license agents.
