Wooters is CPD Officer of the Year

CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) last week announced the 2023 CPD Officer of the Year, Corporal Jed Wooters and his K9 partner Leo.

During the 2023 calendar year, it was Corporal Wooters’ proactive efforts in policing, in addition to his community policing efforts with the assistance of Leo, that led to this award.

Cpl. Wooters was promoted to his current rank in June. He also serves as one of the CPD’s field training officers and assisted in training five of the department’s new officers in the last year.

He is also a member of the Honor Guard. Cpl. Wooters had several notable accomplishments with the assistance of Leo, for which they will both be recognized at CPD’s banquet later this year.

A statement from the department said, “We are proud to have Cpl. Wooters and Leo as part of the Cambridge Police Department and look forward to what the future holds as they both are true assets to the City of Cambridge.”
