Salisbury Community Band to begin Summer Concert Series

Posted

The Salisbury Community Band will present its first concert of the 2024 Summer Season on Sunday, June 30 at the Salisbury City Park Bandstand (on South Park Drive), and continuing every Sunday evening in July. On Saturday, July 6 the Band will return to Robert Reed Park in Downtown Chincoteague in cooperation with the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 8:15 p.m. All concerts are family-friendly and free and open to the public.

The all-volunteer Band performs a variety of musical selections, including traditional band arrangements, medleys of musical theater, film scores, and popular music and marches.

The Band is conducted by former local public school band director and music educator Howard Snow, and has a rich musical heritage dating back to 1937. The current Band maintains the tradition of sharing that heritage with local residents. It also provides an opportunity for local professional and amateur musicians, from high school students to seniors, to exercise their talents.

In case of inclement weather the Salisbury concerts move to A Church Called Christ on Phillip Morris Drive.
