Posted

Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates (POA) is a multi-specialty orthopaedic practice that has been offering communities across the Delmarva Peninsula an expansive continuum of orthopaedic services since 1952. With offices in Ocean Pines, Salisbury, Maryland, Millsboro and Seaford, Delaware, POA provides a broad spectrum of advanced surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic treatments including, foot and ankle, hand, wrist and elbow, hip and knee, shoulder, spine, sports medicine, joint replacement, joint preservation, and orthopaedic trauma care. POA continues to raise the bar of orthopaedic excellence with cutting edge clinical research trials, utilizing the latest advancements in technology including Mako SmartRobotics at POA Surgery Center for Total Joint Replacement as well as adding highly trained orthopaedic surgeons to elevate the level of care POA provides.

As POA continues to strategically expand orthopaedic services into the rapidly growing communities within Sussex County, Delaware, POA has identified a true partner that holds the same high-quality standards and approach to providing excellent patient care. Dr. Wilson Choy, the founder of Premier Orthopaedic Bone & Joint Care (PBNJ), an orthopaedic practice based out of Lewes, Delaware has committed to join the POA team, beginning April 1, 2024. Dr. Harriott, a sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, as well as three physician assistants (Jennifer Hazzard, Amanda Moore and Henry Mensack) and the entire PBNJ team will also be joining POA. With the inclusion of Dr. Choy and his team, POA will expand its service footprint in Lewes and Milford, Delaware. Through these new office locations, POA will also offer additional sub-specialty care, encompassing hand and wrist, total joint, sports medicine, and spine orthopedic care. Dr. Choy and Dr. Harriott will continue to provide surgical services within Beebe Healthcare facilities.

Dr. Pasquale Petrera, President of POA, says, “The union of POA and Premier Orthopaedic Bone & Joint will advance our mission of delivering specialized, compassionate, and outstanding orthopaedic care to the communities across the Delmarva Peninsula. Dr. Choy, Dr. Harriott, and their team possess a longstanding tradition of providing top-tier orthopaedic care in the Sussex Community, and we are privileged to incorporate their expertise, dedication, and skill set into POA.”

Dr. Wilson Choy, founder of Premier Orthopaedic Bone & Joint, says, “The merger with Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates brings resources, technology, services, and surgical advances in delivering quality patient care into this ever-growing community. We are excited about the opportunities this relationship brings to southern Delaware. We will be better positioned to meet the demands and expectations that confronts the changing future of healthcare.”

We are enthusiastic about this opportunity to welcome PBNJ as part of the POA team. Together, we will evolve to support the expanding musculoskeletal care our growing communities have come to expect and deserve!
