InFocus presents $1,000 donation to support JA’s Leadership Academy

Posted

SALISBURY, MD — InFocus Financial Advisors, Inc. is pleased to announce its commitment to the future of the local community with a $1,000 donation to Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. The funds will support JA’s new leadership academy on the Lower Shore, a one-day event dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders.

“We find that when we look at Junior Achievement and all they do, they are one non-profit where their “product” or what they provide is inspiration,” said Eric Johnston, CFP®, President and Financial Advisor. “Inspiring young people is such an easy cause to get behind. We have told JA this is just the beginning of our support, and we look forward to sponsoring future events.”

“We are very excited to roll out the leadership academy to high school students here on the Lower Shore,” said Jayme Hayes, president, CEO, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. “We can only do this with the amazing donations we receive from organizations like InFocus Financial. We are grateful for their sponsorship to support a program that is designed to help our high school students be successful out in the real world.”

Junior Achievement Leadership Academy has been in existence for three years across the Mid Shore counties and 2024 marks the first year for the program on Maryland’s Lower Shore. High school students from Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties who have shown interest in leadership skills will report to the new Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center in Salisbury on Tuesday, February 6th to participate in a one-day leadership academy. The program focuses on leadership skills, knowledge sharing and discussion-based learning. Students participate in break-out sessions, interview rounds with local business professionals and are provided with professional headshots and a take-home resource guide. Junior Achievement partners with community business leaders to speak on a variety of topics including innovation and creativity in the workplace, critical thinking and communication, career self-reliance, networking, and connectivity.
