Two-vehicle crash in Georgetown leaves man dead

GEORGETOWN — A 44-year-old Lewes man died in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, Delaware State Police said.

Police said the man was driving a Chrysler 300 that crossed into the northbound lane of Bethesda Road and was struck by a Mack garbage truck at approximately 11:58 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his name was being withheld until the family is notified.

A 49-year-old Elllendale man driving the truck was uninjured.

Bethesda Road was closed for approximately four hours.

Investigation continues and police asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Cpl. K. Argo by calling 302-703-3264. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800 847-3333.
