Single-vehicle crash leaves Georgetown man dead

GEORGETOWN — A 26-year-old Georgetown man died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday.

Delaware State Police said Bernardino Perez-Garcia was driving a vehicle east, when it left Lewes Georgetown Highway, east of Fawn Lane, for unknown reasons at approximately 1:17 a.m. It collided with a tree before catching fire.

Mr. Perez-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate and asks witnesses to call Senior Cpl. J. Smith at 302-703-3267, to send a message via the state police Facebook page or to contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
